Have I ever participated in any of the internets "Small Potatoes"? As a matter of fact I have not participated in too much of the internet; in fact I don't participate in much anyways.  Myspace? Thought it was stupid. Digg? same thing. Reddit? I am quoting my opinion based off of what someone else said: " It's just 4chan for pussies." but saying that infers that I go to 4chan, which I don't but a friend does. My friend (don't try saying "ya right a FRIEND") looks through the gore threads, and random work safe threads. He gives me a link every now and again. Sometimes he shares a GIF of someone being ruthlessly beaten, sometimes it's some of the most carefree humor I've seen in a long time. Would I recommend 4chan? no, it is not for the faint of heart; SAYING THAT IS NOT A CHALLENGE! unless you want it to be. The following links were posted by a 4chan user; click if you dare.

If you took the challenge, you can see that 4chan is really a hit and miss thing. but the ratio here is way off. you'll find a lot more screwed up things than what you will find things with innocent humor. This is after all the website that is responsible for the infamous "Hitler did nothing wrong" prank. As you venture through the mysterious lands of the internet you'll hear the phrase "don't feed the trolls" but in fantasy, trolls eat people, just being around a troll is enough to cause trouble.

I use Youtube every day of the year. Youtube is one of the ways that I find music. Music is kind of my life, I don't really know what I would do without it. The only thing that Youtube doesn't have going for it is the fact that you need an internet connection to be able to get to it, this is what makes rippers relevant. MP3 rippers are for the most part technically illegal, but they also technically aren't. Ripping anything from youtube and converting it to an MP3 file is legal as long as the material isn't claimed to be copyrighted anywhere on the page of the video. This doesn't mean that it is okay to upload music to Youtube without mentioning the copyright, because one is making people assume that whatever material they are uploading actually is there own creation. This of course can lead to getting the video taken down, or someone can just get sued for 150,000 a week. I don't upload anything because I only want to upload music, and I need 2,000 dollars before I can get the studio equipment that I am eyeing. Call me a perfectionist, but I don't want to record anything with my iPod, the scratchy mic quality bothers me.

I really must say, I am not enjoying twitter in any way. I find it actually quite pointless. I don't even see how it is apparently a life suck. As soon as it is allowed I am going to delete my account, as I was forced to create an account for academic reasons. My hatred for twitter is hard to explain. I'm following a few of my favorite musicians/comedians, and some of the stuff is kind of funny, but it feels pointless to the point where it irks me. Being on Twitter drains me. I can't wait to experience the moment where I know in my heart that I will never have to type "twitter" it into the address bar for the rest of my days.

Well guys, this is my third post, and it is time to celebrate, for no definable reason. I have talked about a couple of things with my last two posts here. I have talked about what I have in terms of media, and what I have done in terms of media. I'm sure that I am behind on blogs, and I will see what I can do to get more of my words on here. I haven't seen any activity in my blog, which i'm quite frankly thankful for. I don't want to deal with spam comments or just spam in general. The internet is a dangerous place, I plan on keeping safe; but I am wary, as the trolls are coming.

My past-times have always been related to some kind of technology, save playing as a child swinging about toy swords and guns. In terms of a game with legitimate communicating, my first game was Runescape. I played a lot of Runescape, but it was short-lived. My brother had control over my character, because he was better at playing. After that I had a very long 3-4 year faze of playing flash games (free games, with enough simplicity to have been made by high school students, or college students. I spent much of my time playing flash games on armorgames. In 10th grade I got a PS3, at the pressuring of a few of my friends. we logged thousands of hours playing video games together. at the end of my 12th grade year we all upgraded to PC gaming. It is much cheaper and much better in my personal opinion. This is all simply gaming related software/hardware.
I joined Youtube in 8th grade for the sake of music. I have always loved music, and I don't think I will ever stop. I downloaded Mixcraft when I was in 11th grade. It is a software for recording and making music. I learned as much about it as I could, but I did not really get too much out of it. in 12th grade I downloaded FL studio (fruityloop studio) and I found much more success with it, as did a good friend of mine. My friend had found FL studio after being referred to it from Epic Rap Battles of History and Deadmau5. A software that I had downloaded since 9th grade I found an exceedingly large amount of use from; a software called Audacity. Audacity was used by me to fix Youtube videos and songs that I downloaded with a Youtube to mp3 ripper (completely legal when it is done to any video, or song that isn't copyrighted) I edited out any background noise or awkward beginnings/endings to songs that were posted onto Youtube.
I have done much with software/hardware, but in a society built by media it is necessary to be a part of it somehow.

My online presence was first born my seventh grade year at an online forum called Ambrosia Software forums (http://www.ambrosiasw.com/forums/). I did a number of things at that site. I initially went there for the purpose to talk to other people about gaming concepts and ideas. I created a primitive storyline for a hypothetical Paper Mario game. I actually recently sent a message to the moderator asking for access to the archives pertaining to my old account. It would be really interesting if I could actually see the stuff that I said way back then. I was a part of the major video gaming crowd until I discovered something on the site even more nerdy.
I was introduced to forum roleplaying when I found a topic on one of the discussion boards. I became a part of it nearly instantaneously. I loved it. As with every online community, there were the people that were just there to hate. So the eight of us (if I remember correctly) that were doing the forum roleplaying made our own website on freeforums and even though I left a very long time ago, the very exclusive forum is still alive and kicking today.
In 10th grade I joined Facebook. I didn't really find that much enjoyment out of it. I share various webcomics and jokes, normally satirizing all of the drama that I see on Facebook. Facebook is actually a quite annoying thing if you get down to the concept. It is a place where any random acquaintance can look at your entire past on Facebook if they so chose. This of course makes Facebook an outlet for all of the drama queens that one may know. Everyone knows the type; constantly complaining about every little thing that doesn't go perfectly in their life. It is also a place for advertising, which can work both ways. Some people can use it to advertise their accomplishments, and get their name "out there." Others often use it for extreme left wing or right wing political propaganda. This annoys me greatly, because I hate the entire party system, its a system that is designed to get the country to divide in half and make it hate itself. I thankfully am in charge of what I see on my news feed, and I quickly learned to weed out all of the drama queens and all members of any party that derives solely on hating its counterpart. Facebook overall really shouldn't be worth the trouble, but due to its nature of being checked quite often, it is generally the fastest way to get a hold of someone over a computer.
